Paan Paan launched their all new GRILL at the Paan Paan outlet at No. 84, Lorensz Road, Colombo 4. This is a great place for people living in and around the area to grab a quick bite and relax. The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony was actress Sangeetha Weeraratne. Amritaa De Silva was also among the celebrities who graced the occasion.
The Grill specialises in charcoal grilled submarines and burgers and they have five varieties of each. For submarines, we tasted the Southern Fried Chicken Sub (Rs. 600). If accompanied with chips, it's Rs. 750. The strips of chicken breast breaded with crumbs made to a southern American recipe was delicious while the onion, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise gave it the necessary crunch. The 9 inch sub is available in white bread and brown bread. If you choose the cheese and herb bread you have to pay Rs. 35 extra.
Then from the choice of burgers we tried out the Texas Chicken Burger (Rs. 500). This was a crumbed and deep fried chicken thigh, topped with cheese, onion, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise. The meat was succulent and juicy and the veges were fresh.
They also have Fish Burgers, Beef Steak Burgers, Tandoori Chicken Burgers and Veggie Burgers. The prices range from Rs. 450 to Rs. 600. When it comes to subs they also have BBQ Chicken Sub, Beef Steak Sub, Teriyaki Chicken Sub and Grilled Veggies with Feta Cheese Sub. The prices range from Rs. 600 to Rs. 700. Salads, BBQ Chicken wings and Garlic Toast are also available if you chose to have an accompaniment.
For dessert they have Coffee Profiteroles and Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream.
It’s an open kitchen concept and the sitting area is casual and fairly small, but sufficient for the purpose. It’s an ideal place to drop by for a chit chat and snack.
