Siyatha Miss World Sri Lanka 2016 Mini Pageants Commence

Siyatha Miss World Sri Lanka, a much awaited pageant in the Sri Lankan fashion calendar is yet to unwind in a few weeks. As the pretty ladies are getting ready for yet another milestone in their dream career, the Siyatha Miss World Sri Lanka crew is extending their support to make this event a success. Miss Sports and Fitness, is a popular mini title at international pageants and according to The Model Shop Director Sangeetha Weeraratne, one of the main aims of this mini pageant is to give them an experience that would be in par with international standards. This in turn would fine tune their skills and will give them a chance to face the pageants there with confidence. 

The judges for this mini pageant were Hilton Sports Centre manager, Palitha Weerasinghe, cricketer and past ODI captain Lahiru Thirimanne and founder and owner of The Kiss Fitness Tiron Wickramasinghe. Speaking to Life Online, Tiron said that this group of contestants was the best team he had trained so far. “This is my fourth consecutive with this pageant and it’s nice to see them coordinating and doing a good job. We are judging skills such as running, flexibility and endurance. Under the endurance category we are focusing on cardiac and muscle strength.” 

The contestants sweated out their efforts to show what they have got, while enjoying their time with each other. As Tiron guided them to show various postures and workouts, the contestants cheered and encouraged their mates to do well. 

Speaking to Life Online, the contestants said that they are having a memorable experience. “We have to wake up early and come for the mini pageants. It’s tough but we are having fun. From this mini pageant we realized that we have to do more workouts. We have learned many things like punctuality and Sangeetha and the team is very kind and supportive.” 

Few of the contestants are first timers and they come from as far as Kandy, Wennappuwa, Chilaw and Kurunegala. But they have only one dream in mind, and that is to be crowned as the Siyatha Miss World Sri Lanka 2016 and the ladies are getting ready to give each other a tough competition and stand out from the rest.
