Where : 178/A Stanley Tillakaratne Mawatha, Nugeoda, Sri Lanka
When : From 11 AM to 11 PM
Who : Alec and Mr. Perera
Today on WTF I set out to make the WTF Pizza, to a new cozy place opened by my good friend – Harpo. The new Harpo's location is on Stanley Tillakaratne Mawatha, near the Jubilee Post roundabout.
Speaking to Harpo, I was told, “We are happy that we were able to bring this affordable range of pizza to this side of town so we can cover more places like Nugegoda, Kotte, Nawala, Battaramulla and Boralesgamuwa with our delivery”.
In the middle of all the hustle and bustle of Nugegoda, it’s nice to walk in to this cozy little place, with colourful chairs and fine homemade ginger beer.
With every bite of any pizza you will taste the true authentic woodfired flavour oozing out. If you ask me, my all-time favourite is the pancetta and parmigiano (basically bacon and cheese). And recently Chef Perera has added a few homegrown magic to the menu as well, the cuttlefish pizza and the egg and chicken one that is sure to entice any Sri Lankan.
Harpo, who is always up for something fun, let me try and make my own “WTF Pizza”. It turned out great. What was my simple recipe? I just used the best ingredients, and a lot of cheese.
I honestly didn’t have any more space left in my tummy to try out any of the pastas – but this prawn pasta looked too good so I will try it next time.
There are so many options to choose from, so visit them or can just call them on (011) 4869000 (delivery) / (011) 4323023 (dine-in).
My goodbye treat was a classic lava cake glazed with citrus liqueur – a fine finish to a long day full of food!
