Today on WTF I visit the most popular locationfor healthy food - Calorie Counter. Duaine says we go wrong with our diets because we do not know what we put into our system on a daily basis. Therefore to put us on the right track, we tried to take the challenge on what we can have to balance our unbalanced lives!
Calorie Counter is a cozy restaurant, and a perfect place to be after a long day at work and at the gym. It has space for around 15 people but the takeaway is more popular, and the location is just perfect at the Thimbirigasyaya junction and it's very accessible. A few dishes I tried gives an inside to what could be the best to try when you get to this healthy place.
The Spinach and Mushroom Omelette is packed with protein, iron and dietary fiber. With the brown bread and salad which is garnished with strawberry, avocado, cucumber and tomato you can get potassium, vitamin E/ B, and folic acid. The light breakfast gives you the correct balance and the calorie total will be 129. The Eggs Benedict is another big hit and my favourite is the Nutri Breakfast and a definite must try. Another option which also equals as a breakfast on the go is the blueberry granola parfait. Unlike the conventional dessert parfait which has the unhealthy cream, this one comes with a healthier option of curd layered with overnight soaked oats and blueberries and there are more options on this.
The lunch options are great! The Cajun Spiced Grill Chicken features a chicken breast (the best lean protein you can eat especially when you workout) cooked perfectly whilst the corn and mushrooms accompanying it will give you the antioxidants, potassium and the fiber. And it's a calorie total of 486. The pre-workout and post-workout meal options are great like the wholewheat toast with fruit gives the energy to burn, and even the homemade almond butter with apple slices.
Dinner is a tricky meal to have and Duaine Peiris says that having an early dinner is the best way to see good results. My favourite is the Herb Marinated Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Avocado, Green Apple and Almonds which gives you a calorie total of calorie 386.
If you still want more reasons to go visit them for your next meal, I'll say try the juices and smoothies they have as it's a combination of many great things served up together. They have also added a few more cool things to their collection like the first ever healthy breakfast combo which is affordable and tasty.
You can follow them on their app for both iOS and Android with their menu, special offers and discounts.
So eat healthy and stay healthy with Calorie Counter!
