This week was a cheat day for me, I did not want to waste it and I went off to a place I have had on my WTF list for some time. It sure was worth beating the Nawala traffic for some Rocco's pizza. They have been one of the few consistently good Italian restaurants in town and I know the reason why. I think the power of the two women running it and how organized and clean the place is, has something to do with it.

Along with the pizza menu, they have a separate mains section, as well as sides, salads, pasta, risotto and a long list of desserts. We wanted to try them all

I asked the ladies how it all began and this is what Judy and Krishanti had to say

“It was A mutual love for authentic Italian Pizza and Italian cuisine, in general, that drove us towards the idea of doing it ourselves”

Judy added “A pizza oven was constructed in Krishanti’s garden and Rocco’s opened for business in 2012 as a takeaway and delivery outlet. From day one, the emphasis is and always will be on handmade, fresh, best quality, imported and locally sourced gourmet ingredients, cooked in a home-style way”

In August 2013, Rocco’s moved to a new location with road frontage on the main Nawala road providing a safe, warm, welcoming family-oriented dining experience and up to date they have kept it going smoothly
The ladies say “we love Pizza” and they can keep eating it everyday

I had the following;
Florentina – Spinach, Mushroom, Bell Peppers, Olives, Ricotta Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Concase
• Spicy Chicken – Chicken, Onion, Green Chilli, Bell Peppers, Olives, Mozzarella, Tomato Concase
• Ham & Bacon – Ham, Bacon, Parmesan Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Concase
• Meat Fest – Beef, Ham, Sausage, Bacon, Capers, Onion, Olives, Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Concase

We are adding a new WTF pizza to their menu soon and it’s all that I like in one pizza ( 4 cheese and bacon with green chili) it will be available soon.

If you want to just try the most selling item, its The all-time favorite Margherita – Fresh Basil leaves, Mozzarella Cheese & Tomato Concase and you can never go wrong with it. 
We even tried some of their best selling drinks
• Berry Chiller
• Rocco’s Blue Lime
• Nutella ‘n’ Marshmallow Shake
And not getting a homemade treat
• Cassata- homemade three layered Neopolitan ice cream – Almond, Chocolate & Tutti Frutti perfect finish after the pizza

Loved the time. I had worn Judy and Krishanti - so much fun and down to earth making it a place I want to go back to.

Their service is impeccable. Everyone who works are well-versed in what’s available and they make the ordering process super easy, they even accommodate your special requests, allergy’s and etc 

All their hard work did not go to waste, recently they were regained by Women's Chamber of Industry and Commerce -winning the Gold Award Large Industry Category

If you like pizza it’s always good to have a local brand so let’s dig in
