What - The Halloween Look

Today on WTF, I wanted to bring out the horror. Yes, I’m late but I got to see these girls and how talented they are just a few days back, as Halloween was just a few days back and surprisingly it's actually picking up in Sri Lanka. People are taking the time to make the look just as creepy as possible. Halloween has always been a holiday filled with mystery, magic and superstition for years now even dating back to over 2000 years. 

I have done several photoshoots in my life, but nothing was as hard as this. It started at 6.30PM and when I was finally done, it was 12:15 in the night with no break – my back was broken and my petitions just went off the roof. I'm not a happy person when I have to sit in one place for a long time! 

Speaking to Dominique Croos Sedra aka Unicorn J who has just finished her A/Ls, she says "I started out with makeup and then branched into FX. My first adventure with makeup didn't start till 2012, when I turned 14, and that was only eyeliner, before that, I wasn't allowed to wear any makeup. As soon as I was given permission to start wearing makeup I wasted no time in learning the tips and tricks from my good old friend, YouTube. In around 2 years I became pretty apt at it. One of the reasons my interest for FX started was because I had scored YouTube so much to the point that I had literally run out of tutorials to watch, so FX tutorials was what I indulged myself in next, but I never tried any of it out cause I lacked materials and I never believed I could pull it off. 

I gave my first official try at FX makeup this year May, a lot of my close friends and family told me that it was pretty good for my first attempt and kept (and still keep) encouraging me to try more. That's when I decided to continue, I aim to put out a FX look weekly and now, it's what I want a career in." 

And keeping to this she has taken up beauty culture as her career for now. 

Then we come to the straight A student who has moved to Sri Lanka from the Middle East only 9 months back - The Blue Blood Elf, Opula Fonseka! 

"In 2013, I went to my first convention. I encountered this amazing lady who was transforming normal people to zombies. I remember begging her to do a simple transformation for me and she eventually did. That's when I fell in love with horror and FX makeup but it wasn't until the next year that I tried my hand at a simple slit across the wrist with clay and tissues out of boredom. With a few more experiments, I got into cosplay. Now, I incorporate horror FX makeup into my cosplays which has turned in to my signature move. 

I've gotten this far because of the support I've gotten from my parents and close friends. My only regret is not remembering that amazing make-up artist that zombified me for the first time. I am very truly grateful!" 

But she still finds time to study from 3:30AM to 5AM and I'm telling you these girls are going to be huge in the future!
