On WTF today, together with the You're My Favorite Team, I was out on a mission to find the best movie time snack, and I had to stick to a tight budget, and kept it to just Rs.500, so my Titanic movie night ended up with a full stomach. I love what Sri Lanka has to offer. 

1. CROWN – GOLDEN RINGS 

Amount – Rs.50 

Made By – Crown Sweety Products (PVT) Ltd 

In one word if I had to describe it, it smelt like Breaking Wind, but tasted good.

2. RUBI – FAMILY PACK SNACKS 

Amount – Rs.50 

Made By – A.M.L Universal Trading Company (PVT) Ltd 

It’s a good choice. They have tried to copy the TipTip Onion Snacks, only on the cover but kept the shape to the circle inside.

3. CBL – Ramba Pizza Flavour 

Amount – Rs.30 

Made By –  CBL- Convenience Foods (Lanka) (PVT) Ltd 

They say it’s not fried, but baked - best choice, it’s great!

4. Ruwani Kumari Quality Bites – Fried Rings 

Amount – Rs.30 

The best, it’s papadam fried, with a dash of chillie - great flavour!

5. Uswalle – Tipi Tip 

Amount – Rs.30 (small) 

I think it's every Sri Lankan child's favourite, and you will always love it.

6. Ruwani Kumari Quality Bites – Pop Corn 

Amount – Rs.30 (small) 

The usual, nothing so special.

7. Mr. Pop – Classic 

Amount – Rs.30 

Made By – Shaw Wallace, Ceylon, Ltd 

Love it, and the crunch is nice. I don't know if you remember that they used to give a top with each packet back in the day, and I think they need to bring it back!

8. Diana – TIKKA Cheese Balls 

Amount – Rs.10 

Made By – Diana Chocolates (PVT) Ltd 

Tacky packaging, treble animation, and I think they should ONLY stick to chocolate.

9. RUKAIAHA PRODUCTS –  FRIED RINGS 

Amount – Rs.30 

Made By –  RUKAIAHA PRODUCTS, Church Street, Colombo 2 

I think they just fried it, with no love or care, and this is not a good choice.

10. AMAL GRAM STORE 

Finally I met Prashanth from AMAL Gram Store who have been in business since 1960, and they have a wide range of products. Everything is fried and everything is nice. 

I got all these for an amount of Rs.150. 

Bathala (Sweet Potato) – Super 
Sweet Rings – Full of colours, and not my thing 
Fried Ash Plantain – Super 
Garlic Murukku – Great but please don’t kiss anyone after eating this!
