Bentota is just a short drive from Colombo - and the picturesque beauty of this beach is highly recommended by local and foreign tourists.  One of the main attractions: watersports on the calm waters of the marina.  Mathilde tried several: water-skiing, jet-skiing and riding in a large inflatable doughnut.  The most difficult part of water-skiing is getting out of the water. 

A little tip: keep your skis parallel and close together, and bend your knees.  The doghnut ride was rockier than it looks in this video: the boat's waves make the experience rather bumpy, and you'll see the other boy fall into the water!  Luckily, Mathilde held on tight, and just about made it back to solid ground. 

 

 Judging by Mathilde's smiles, Jet-skiing seems to be great fun - though her instructor insisted on going very fast, and she claims her heart was racing the entire time.   Luckily, the engine sounds drowned out her screams - but if you watch closely, you'll see her mouth is wide open and you'll be able to imagine the high-pitched sound coming out!
