The hips of the leader and follower move in the same direction throughout the song. Partners may walk sideways or circle each other, in small steps.
They can switch to an open position and do separate turns without letting go each other's hands or releasing one hand. During these turns they may twist and tie their handhold into intricate pretzels.
When improvised by ZUMBA, Merengue takes on an electrified version today where you will be engaged in a whole series of intense hip movements and footwork, mainly targeting the famous love handles, buttocks, thighs and calf muscles.
So today Dharshan is going to break down the choreography of a song called Cellular (Electro-Merengue). Get ready to Jump-Jump-Jump!!
Dharshan is a U.S. Certified ZUMBA Instructor.
