SUNDAY  Taken from the newsletter of I.T.I. (Industrial Technology Institute). Make a difference. Change your light bulbs. The hottest thing in  household energy savings is the compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL). CFL costs 3 to 5 times  as much as conventional  incandescent bulbs, yet use one quarter of the electricity and lasts several years longer. They are available virtually everywhere light bulbs are sold. CFLs have come a long way since they were first introduced  in mid  90's, but because each bulb still contains 5mg of mercury, you are not supposed to toss them out with the regular trash. So the bulbs are one more thing for you to sort  in the recycling bin.

MONDAY  Peanut Butter is one of the richest sources of heart healthy monounsaturated fats.It is also low in saturated fat, and an excellent source of protein to keep you feeling full for longer, fibre for bowel health, and folate which can prevent against colon cancer and heart disease. They help reduce inflammation  in the body, and boosts the health of blood vessels around the heart.
TUESDAY  We all know the popular dessert "Tiramisu" Here are some facts. The word means "Pick Me Up". and is a modern version of  a dessert first created in Siena, where it was called "Zuppa Del Ducca" (the Duke's Soup). From there it migrated to Florence, where it became very popular. in the 19th century among the many English people who came to live in the city at that time. And so it was called "Zuppa Inglese"  English Soup. Recently, the same dessert with some variation, chiefly the substitution of  rich Mascarpone Cheese for the original custard, has come to be called "Tiramisu".

WEDNESDAY  Paneer Butter Masala. Fry 400gm cubed Paneer (cottage cheese) in butter or margarine. Soak in curd. Make a paste of onions, green chillies, garlic and ginger and stir fry. Add chilly paste, curry powder, saffron, tomato paste, salt and a tsp of sugar. Add cottage cheese. Optional, just before taking it off the fire, add a small tub of fresh cream.

THURSDAY  Worried because your custard or Mayonnaise has curdled? Dont let it upset you. Put it through the blender and it will miraculously become smooth again.

FRIDAY  Do you know what is a "Croque Monsieur "? it is the French version of a toasted or grilled sandwich made with a slice of cheese and a slice of ham between the two slices of buttered bread. Pour a cheese sauce over and grill again. if you place a fried egg on top, it becomes a Croque Madame.

SATURDAY  "Learn to live for today. Most worries are about yesterday and tomorrow".
