Sultry Bollywood actress Vidya Balan launched the DVD of her box office hit film 'The Dirty Picture' in India's entertainment capital Mumbai city.

 

Balan's film was one of the highest grossing Bollywood flicks of 2011, earning a whopping $23.4 million since its release in December last year.

 

 

'The Dirty Picture' is a biopic on the life of south Indian film actress Silk Smitha, who ruled the silver screen during the 1980s.

 

The film was one of the most awaited movies of 2011 and has won numerous industry awards.

Balan, who gave a sizzling onscreen performance, adorned a saree for the launch and spoke warmly of the film's raving success.

 

Directed by Milan Luthria, the film was released in India on December 2, the birth anniversary of Smitha.

 

The film has won critical and commercial success for showcasing a strong portrayal of women in a male dominated industry.
