Popular filmmaker Udayakantha Warnasuriya started work on his 18^th cinematic venture titled 'Kosthapal Pungnasoma' (Constable Pungnasoma) featuring a talented star cast.

Mahendra Perera plays the title role while the other characters are played by Gamini Hettiarachchi, Sriyantha Mendis, Dulika Marapana, Srinath Maddumage, Ravindra Yasas, Janaka Ranasinghe, Sisira Kumaratunga, Viraj Jayasiri, Ronnie Leitch, Chathura Perera, Lahiru Mudalige, Ananda Athukorale and others.

The movie is co-produced by Udayakantha, Sunil T. Fernando and Yohan Premaratne.

Ayeshmantha Hettiarachchi handles the camera, Pravin Jayaratne the sound management and editing, Vasantha Vittachchi the make up, Mahesh Nishantha the still photography while Donald Jayantha is the assistant director. Ashoka Ariyaratne is the production manager.

Udayakantha's other movies 'Rankewita 2' and ' Senasuru Maruwa' are also due to be released this year.
