Wherever you exercise, you are likely to have heard more than a few myths about fitness and muscle. You never question these myths because the people who pass them on are usually bigger than you & seem like they know how to get results...

Just because they lift more than you and have awesome muscles, doesn’t mean that everything they have to say about fitness is true!  We at Bodybykrisfitnesselite, thought we would bust a few of the myths and empower you with the truth so you can reach your fitness goals faster!
 

 

Myth 1. 'If I eat more protein,  I will build more muscle’
 

The Truth

Protein promotes the process of muscle building to an extent, (>0.9-1.2g/pound of body  weight ) but eating too much protein is pointless.

Your body will break down any excess protein & get rid of it with other body waste. Consuming excessive amounts of protein will only give you bad breath and leave you constipated.

 

Try

Sticking to the recommended ratios of protein:carbohydrates for muscle building according to your own body weight.
 


Myth 2. ‘If I get more “muscle pump”, I will build more muscle’

 

The Truth

Muscle pump is achieved when there is more blood flowing in your muscle tissue. Muscle pump feels great & makes you look biggerafter your workout! But ‘pump’ DOES NOT promote natural muscle gain.

 

Try

Measuring your progress by documenting each workout sessions: muscle gain= when you can lift heavier weight weights for more reps.                                               
 


 

Myth 3.   ‘If I do more cardio,  I will burn more'

 

The Truth

You will BURN LESS calories during or after your long walks. Lond distance walking will cause:
  

- a reduction in fat burning hormornes levels
-your body will adapt to become more energy efficient.

 

Try

Interval training to get the job done faster:

You will burn more calories during your workouts, Your metabolism will remain elevated for 24hrs after workouts.

Instead of pounding the treadmill for 60mins, you will be done in just 20-25mins!
