Talented actor Srinath Maddumage who is now domiciled in Australia, was in the country during the past few weeks, on two acting assignments. He played the second lead in Udayakantha Warnasuriya’s  ‘Kosthapal Pungnasoma’ and Sanath Abeysekara’s ‘Siri Daladagamanaya’.

“Working with Mahendra Perera, Sriyantha Mendis, Duleeka Marapana and Gamini Hettiarachchi was indeed a memorable experience. Udayakantha extended me a special invitation to act in his latest movie. I have acted in several films directed by Udayakantha. Among them are ‘Gini Keli Saha Gini Avi, Ran Kewita, Diya Yata Gindara, Bahu Buthayo and others,” Srinath told Impulse.

What do you do in Australia?

“Well, I work at the Peter Maccallum Cancer Hospital in Melbourne. In addition I compile a monthly magazine called ‘Sannasa’ catering to our Sri Lankans. It comprises diverse articles covering politics, culture, arts and other features.

Your future missions in Lanka?

I hope to do a good stage play in Sri Lanka. Many people ask if I have no idea to return to my motherland. I do have plans but nothing is finalised yet. But I will certainly oblige directors who want me in their projects. I have been living in Australia for the past 7 years. On the family front I am a proud father now. My daughter is Menuri Chamathka.
