Sirasa TV’s popular Poddanta Puluwan segment that showcases multi-talents of children, is now reaching the best moments, with talented children being boiled down to the final 12. Their fate in the programme and chances to clinch the much-hyped title will depend on the sms votes they receive in the coming weeks.

Matara twin brothers – Sarith Jayawardana and Surith Jayawardana - are two talented children who have won the hearts of small screen audiences in the Poddanta Puluwan segment which is being telecast from 9 pm to 10 pm on Sirasa TV every Saturday and Sunday.

Sarith and Surith are two 11-year-olds studying at Matara Rahula College. The two who are fine painters, have also won the first place in all-island singing and music competitions.

The duo’s father Jagath Jayawardana is also a talented musician who has been involved with his down south band ‘The Breve’ from 1985.

“My sons Sarith and Surith were the ones who insisted that they should take part in this contest. Sarith is a talented guitarist and violinist while Surith can play any percussion instrument like the tabla, congo or bongo exceptionally well.. I am an English teacher at Matara Rahula Vidyalaya while my wife teaches in an international school. My youngest daughter Tharushi can also dance well. She is determined to enter this programme in the future,” said Jagath.
