Senior journalist, film critic author and lecturer Nuwan Nayanajith Kumara will launch the first reprint of his most adored book ‘Gamini:  Vishveeya Rupavedayaka Asiyanu Purogamiya’ (Gamini: Asia’s pioneer in the universality of the art of acting) on March 21 – to coincide with the 76th birth anniversary of the film legend.

 

 

The informative ‘Surasa’ book comprising extensive details and rare pictures is published by Fast Publishing (Pvt) Ltd headed by Prem Dissanayake.

 

The book was initially launched in 2004 when the late actor cum filmmaker was alive. The book sold out fast and the demand was increasing continuously. However Nuwan’s busy schedules also resulted in the first reprint taking eight long years to be released.

 

“This updated version will have more rare pictures and a new section covering the period upto the death of Gamini Fonseka. It will also have selected reviews about the book which has been appreciated by many,” said Nuwan Nayanajith who also shares his birthday with the film legend.
