Talented actress Nadeesha Hemamali who has showcased ample promise in her glamorous career spanning a decade, will launch her official website at the Ramada Hotel in Colombo on Friday August 10. The event will also coincide with her birthday bash at the same venue.

Despite her outstanding prowess as an actress she also added a feather to her cap when she bagged the award for the best tele drama production ‘Ethkanda Lihiniya’ recently. It was her maiden endeavour as a tele drama producer.

Meanwhile, Tamil film director R.V. Udayakumar who created hits such as Kizhakku Vasal, Singaravelan. Chinna Goundar and Yajaman in the nineties opened the doors of the Indian film industry to Nadeesha Hemamali.

He chose the bubbly Sri Lankan starlet for his Telugu film ‘Rascal’, which was well received among the Indian audiences. The Chennai-based filmmaker said Nadeesha has indeed become an Asian star via the movie.

 

The biggest achievement in your life…

I feel the biggest is yet to come. I have grown from big to bigger. My ultimate dream is to succeed as actress, businesswoman and use those as a tool to soothe the hearts and souls of the people of this country. I have won top awards for my acting skills and gained international exposure too. I had set pretty high standards for myself from my childhood and I’m glad I have achieved a certain standard today as an actress and even as a human being.

 

The happiest day in your life…

Obviously, it was the day I saw myself glittering on screen… It was unbelievable..

 

What matters most to you – the credibility as an actress or the role you play as a normal human being?

The roles I play on screen have nothing to do with my personality, but the people will accept or reject me based on how I conduct myself in real life. It’s the people who made me what I am today. Therefore, I must return that kindness to them with interest.
