The popular Vikurthi stage play which has crossed its third decade will be staged at the Maharagama National Youth Services Council on August 18, to felicitate veteran dramatist Somalatha Subasinghe who will be marking her 50^th year in arts.

The event is organized by ‘Gami Daruwo-Peradeniya Sarasavi Mithuro’. The 3.30 pm will show will be for school children while the 6.30 pm show will be open to the public.

The keynote address for the 3.30 pm show will be made by Sugath Watagedara while Prof. Tissa Kariyawasam will make the address during the 6.30 pm show. A special publication highlighting the 50-year service to arts by Ms. Somalatha Subasinghe will be launched during the ceremony where she will be awarded with a special felicitation award.
