In the 30 year history of tele dramas in Sri Lanka, there have been a few films that were transformed into tele dramas in recent years. The latest such tele drama based on a film is ‘Ektamge’ which was directed by Herbert Ranjith Peiris in 1980.

 

The popular movie which featured Ravindra Randeniya, Malani Fonseka and Joe Abeywickrema in the lead became a box office hit and Gunadasa Kapuge’s song ‘Unmada Sithuwam’ which was featured in the film is popular even today.

 

The tele drama version which is now being picturised features Amila Abeysekara, Piyumi Shanika and Roger Seneviratne in the lead. The script has been penned by Mahesh Rathsara Maddumarachchi. 

 

 

‘Ektamge’ is being directed by Iresh Lokubandara.
