Dan Aykroyd wants 'Ghostbusters 3' to be "perfect".

The 60-year-old actor - who starred in the first two instalments of the franchise - still hopes a third movie can be made, despite a lukewarm response to the idea from fans and co-star Bill Murray.

According to WIVB.com, he said: "We've got a new writing staff working on it now. It's got to be perfect. That's the whole thing. There's no point in doing it unless it's perfect. So that's what we're up to now."

Bill previously revealed he wasn't impressed with the scriptwriters' first attempts on a new idea for the movie.

He said: "You know, you just gotta have a really good script. It's hard. Even the second 'Ghostbusters' wasn't as much fun for me as the first one. It's hard to make a sequel. It's gotta be really funny, and that first one was just so darn funny."

However, Dan admitted he is still willing to consider taking part. He said: "Well, I think we'll try again. I always drag my feet on it."
