The Ranaviru Real Star - Mission 2 ended on a grand scale last Friday with Sri Lanka Army’s Ayomi Perera emerging victorious as the ‘Ranaviru Real Star’ at a glittering event held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

 

 

The programme conceptualized by Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapksa and organized by the Defence Ministry in collaboration with the event partner Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka, highlights the hidden singing talents of our armed forces personnel is one of the most watched reality programmes.

 

 

 

The second place was won by Gayan Arunapriya of the Sri Lanka Navy, the third place went to Lance Corporal Kishan Dumindaraj of the Sri Lanka Army, the fourth place to Sergeant Asela Manukulasuriya of the Sri Lanka Army while Imali Anuruddhika of the Sri Lanka Air Force won the fifth place.

She said she was thankful to all who helped her especially the higher officials and MCNS Director General Lakshman Hulugalle. This programme has really made us heroes in the hearts of our people. I am also grateful to the panel and all officers at the Defence Ministry, said Ayomi who won a house worth Rs. 17 million as her first prize. “I studied music at school and completed music studies upto the Diploma level. I sang songs of Lata Walpola and Angeline Gunathilaka in this programme catering to the needs of the audience. That was another crucial factor that brought me victory,” she said.
