Celebrate Father’s Day at Cinnamon’s city hotels 

If you’re looking for the prefect way to celebrate Father’s Day this year, look no further than the Cinnamon’s city hotels. Cinnamon Grand, Cinnamon Lakeside and Cinnamon Red have come together to offer a range of dining options from brunch to high tea to dinner this June 19, perfect to salute the family hero. 

Cinnamon Grand 

At Cinnamon Grand, you’re spoilt for choice with three promotions on for Father’s Day. 

For the dads who love their food, The Taprobane’s brunch would be ideal with the extensive buffet spread featuring over 130 dishes to savour. Begin your feast from the international cheese counter which holds cheeses from France, Italy, Holland, Switzerland and England with plenty of breads and crudités to go with. Salads and appetizer section is in itself broad, with a seafood fountains, cold cuts and sushi bar. The mains include hot buffets, Sri Lankan, Indian and Far Eastern dishes, live action stations with grills, tempura stations and dim sum among others. The carvery selection covers roast leg of pork, lamb gigot, braised pork shoulder, BBQ beef ribs, beef sirloin, roast turkey, duck and giant modha. From the wok will come rice and noodles made with veggies or seafood, while there will also be a pasta and egg station. Dessert counter will surpass the imagination of even the strongest chocoholic. The buffet is priced at Rs.2,800 (plus tax). 

The Cheers Pub Sunday Carvery will also pay tribute to dads with its own speciality dishes with soups, salads, pate, mains and carvery that includes traditional roast beef, herb marinated roast lamb, mustard marinated roast leg of pork and spice marinated spit roast chicken. The desserts will present an assortment of favourites. The special Sunday Carvery is priced at Rs.1,900 (plus tax). 

For the dads who love to sleep in a little late on a Sunday, a High Tea at the Tea Lounge would make the best experience. Seven varieties of sandwiches, platters of rolls, savouries and canapes, scones, tea sweets, cakes and cookies will be laid out at the price of Rs.1,500 (plus tax). This will be on for 3.00 p.m to 5.00 p.m. 

Cinnamon Lakeside 

A special brunch will be laid out at Cinnamon Lakeside’s The Dining Room presenting over 90 dishes for you and your family to enjoy. From cold appetizers, salads, soups, dim sum, sushi and sashimi to an array of speciality dishes from the Continental and Far Eastern parts of the world along with Indian and Sri Lankan favourites – this buffet promises to be all that you can dream of and more! For the meat lovers there will be plenty at the carvery station which will feature roast leg of lamb, honey roast pork, roast turkey and roast beef rib roll; and a seafood grill with salmon, prawns, modha, sea crab, mussels and more for the pescatarians. 

The sweets buffet with its offerings is bound to make everyone happy! From a chocolate daylight counter to raspberry, strawberry and blueberry cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, crème brulee, brownies, panna cotta, Victorian cakes and lots more will ensure there is something for ever sweet-tooth in the family. All this is priced at Rs.3,200 nett. The buffet is on from noon to 3.00 p.m. 

Cinnamon Red 

A special dinner with dad is made all the more fancy when it’s celebrated at the hip and trendy Flavoured restaurant at Cinnamon Red. Laid back and colourfully chic, the restaurant is the perfect venue to toast dad. 

Over 60 dishes will be prepared by the hotel’s expert chefs for this special occasion. Choose from an assortment of salads or make your own, using a variety of veggies, condiments and dressings available. Start with cold cuts, shooters, soups and delicate tapas while choosing your favourite cheese to pair with the array of crackers available. From the mains, you can select a range of Indian, Chinese and Western dishes. A pasta station whipping up your favourites a la minute is also part of the buffet, as is the action station which will have the likes of seafood kebab with lemon sauce, herb crusted lamb shoulder chop, scallop with Thai green curry beurre blanc, cheese onion sauce, Cajun chicken with mushroom sauce and Australian beef sirloin with red wine jus. A dessert corner just as exceptional as the rest of the buffet will display some of the steady favourites. Sticky date pudding, chocolate mousse, chocolate chip tart, tiramisu and red velvet cheesecake are only a few of what’s on offer. The dinner is on from 7.00 p.m to 10.30 p.m, and is priced at Rs. 2,300 nett.
