Fashion photographer, designer and stylist Raffealla has just launched her celebrity calendar. This versatile lass also works as a lecturer imparting her knowledge to eager students. She loves ice cream, good books, and ‘me’ time. One thing she loathes is flight delays especially if the weather outside is freezing!
Why do you love travel?
I get to go to new places, meet new people, try out new food, explore their cultures, update my fashion diary and I also love to get my passport stamped. Travelling is one of those formulas which keeps me happy and relaxed.
Your favourite travel destination and why?
Maldives, for its beautiful beaches, islands, delicious food and of course the beautiful blue hues that you are surrounded by.
What do you need for a perfect holiday?
A good travel attitude, proper travel plan, a perfect travel destination, a travel partner, good music, my headphones, my camera, phone, charger, some comfortable clothes, flip flops or sneakers because I love walking and exploring new places, and a good book.
In which country have you felt most at home?
Milan.
Most unusual souvenir you have brought home?
Well, the most unusual souvenir I brought home was a Chinese bell with engraved Chinese letters on it from Switzerland.
Worst holiday or travel experience?
During my recent tour of Italy I was struck down with a viral flu and it was simply awful especially as it was winter. Not the nicest of experiences!
Best piece of travel advice?
Be spontaneous when you travel. Always have a proper travel pack especially for women so you know you have all what you need in case you face any unexpected situation.
Your top five travel destinations?
Maldives, Paris, Milan, Goa and Galle.
What has travel taught you?
It has enabled me to gel up positively with different people. Travel has taught me to respect each and every person and appreciate the value of traditions and cultures.
Which country did you taste the best ever cuisine?
Sri Lanka. Nothing can satisfy my tastebuds like Sri Lankan cuisine does.
