Gifted musician Neluka, is an alumna of the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, London and now works as a music teacher. Apart from playing the piano and violin she likes to cook. She does however dislike argumentative people and know it alls! She also owns up to the fact that she has a terrible habit of leaving her handbag behind especially in restaurants!
Why do you like to travel?
Travelling to a new destination also helps me to relax and unwind after a busy term of
preparing students for examinations, festivals and concerts. It gives me a chance to spend some quality time with my husband and son.
Your favourite travel destination and why?
United Kingdom. London for me is the best place to enjoy my vacation. It is a place for all kinds of people, young and old. There are numerous tourists attractions and sight seeing places to visit. The museums, art galleries, churches, music halls are fascinating. I especially love the West End and of course all the classical music concerts.
What you need for a perfect holiday?
Good location, comfortable lodging, recreational activities for the kids, good company and great weather.
In which country have you felt most at home?
London. I came into contact with such friendly, helpful and kind people. What I also like is the variety of Sri Lankan restaurants and grocery shops. Everything was available so it felt like I was in Sri Lanka.
Worst holiday or travel experience?
Being stuck on an airplane for eight hours during winter travelling from Amsterdam to Colombo. It was a stressful time indeed.
Best piece of travel advice?
Plan well ahead of time. Do some research on your holiday destination. Learn a little of the local language which may come in useful. Take some extra cash in case of an emergency. Carry a basic first aid kid.

The United Kingdom, USA, Switzerland, Malaysia and Singapore.
What has travel taught you?
Travel has taught me to see immense beauty, get acquainted with different cultures and taste new cuisines. Travel has helped me to appreciate the variety life offers and develop a sense of gratitude.
Which country did you taste the best ever cuisine?
Barcelona, Spain.

Once again, England.
