Paradise Road Galleries is pleased to present an auction of Modern and Contemporary Sri Lankan art in aid of Sunera Foundation. This will mark the first-ever fundraiser auction supported by Christie’s to be held in Sri Lanka to support the Sunera Foundation which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of differently abled individuals and facilitating their fullest integration into society using the effective medium of the performing arts.

The Auction is supported by Christie’s, a world-leading art and luxury business. Renowned and trusted for its expert live and online auctions, as well as its bespoke private sales. Sonal Singh – Managing Director – Christie’s India will lead as auctioneer for the event and she shared that ‘Christie’s is proud to support the Sunera Foundation at this charity auction to benefit enhancing the quality of life for the differently abled. It is our belief, that art is our cornerstone, central to everything we do here at Christie’s.’ This exceptionally curated auction brings together a significant collection of Modern and Contemporary Sri Lankan art that would enhance the finest of collections.  

The Auction will feature works from Justin Pieris Deraniyagala, Richard Gabriel, Manjusri, Ivan Peries, Ranil Deraniyagala, Jagath Weerasinghe, and more. All proceeds from the Auction will directly benefit Sunera Foundation’s impactful initiatives.  “It is an honour to, once again, host the fundraising exhibition for The Sunera Foundation, an organization that has continually supported youth in need. We are looking forward to the auction and the coming together of philanthropists and art collectors to ensure a successful fundraiser and to enjoy the first Christie’s supported auction to take place in Sri Lanka” shared Udayshanth Fernando, Founder of Paradise Road.

The exhibition will be open to the public for viewing from 31 August - 14 September 2023 at Paradise Road Galleries from 10 am - midnight.  The Auction will be held on 7 September at Paradise Road The Gallery Cafè. Pre-registration is required for the Auction.
