The Google Nexus 10 is the latest and greatest 10-inch Android tablet on the market today. Featuring stunning specs and high-end performance, it easily outperforms all other Android Tablets and even brings the iPad to its knees (in some ways).
This device isn’t perfect but it seems like a reliable indicator of Android’s growing strength in the Tablet market.

Android 4.2

Tech Specs
The most amazing thing about the Nexus 10 is the stunning 10-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 (300 ppi), which is easily superior to that of the iPad’s retina display, which only boasts 264ppi. The display also features the all-new Corning Gorilla Glass 2, which is guaranteed to enhance the quality and durability of the screen.
Another important note that is that despite its dimensions - 263.9 x 177.6 x 8.9mm - it only weighs 306 grams, which is much lighter than the iPad, which weighs 652 grams (Wi-Fi only version). Like the Nexus 7, this device features no buttons on the front side. The topside (landscape viewing angle) of the device features the power/sleep button and right next to it is the volume control button.
The micro USB port and 3.5mm jack is located on the left side of the device. On the right side, there is the HDMI port. Finally, the bottom side features the magnetic pogo pin charging port.
Underneath the hood, the Nexus 10 continues to stun with a dual-core A15 processor, quad-core Mali T604 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There are two variants available : 16 GB and 32 GB. However, it does not feature an expandable memory slot.
The Nexus 10 features a main 5MP camera and a 1.3MP front camera. The device also features a range of photo-editing apps for quick and easy editing.
The initial version of the Nexus 10 is a Wi-Fi only version. However, the 3G/4G versions are sure to follow soon. Unfortunately the fact that it is not available right now, might cause some consumers to think twice when it comes to actually purchasing the device.
The battery is also worth mentioning here. It is an impressive 9000 mAh battery that promises 9 hours of video, 7 hours of web browsing or 90 hours of music.
Other than that, the Nexus 10 also comes with a now-standard connectivity features including Bluetooth, NFC and Dual side NFC and GPS. It also features a range of sensors: gyroscope, barometer, ambient light detector and compass.
Interface
The Nexus 10 comes loaded with Android 4.2, which features many improvements from Android ICS. Unfortunately, some of the most interesting features available on Nexus interface are actually customised for use in the US, Europe and Japan.
Users in Sri Lanka, for instance, will still be able to use most, if not all, the fantastic apps available in the Android Play Store. However, some of the coolest features such as Google Now, Google Music, and Google and similar features will not be available for users here.
That said, this OS has tremendous functionality improvements that will suit virtually any situation including integrated notifications, multi-tasking, etc
.
Verdict
As things stand now, the Nexus 10 is probably the best tablet PC in on the market right now. It is certainly the best Android tablet and in many important ways, it is even better than the latest version of the iPad.
The display, processor and other specs set a new standard in the industry. With Android 4.2, this makes a very potent combination. At the end of the day, the greatest drawbacks are the lack of 3G/4G versions and the inability to add extra memory.
Either way, this is a splendid device and a perfect option for those who are looking for a high-end tablet to suit all their entertainment needs.
