Chrome is the most popular browser in the world and for good reason. Unlike IE and Firefox It has managed to stay fresh with new contents, upgrades and seamless integration with the rest of Google’s services.
However, there is a good chance that most users don’t actually use some of the amazing apps that are available with Chrome.
Save to Google Drive:
Google Drive features Google’s answer to MS Office. It is also a great place to store files for remote access (all you need to do is sign in through your google account to get access to your Drive files).
One feature that allows users to make good use of the storage feature is the (appropriately named) “Save to Google Drive” app, that allows users to save PDF files, images of web pages, and other content directly to their Google Drive. Not only is this a great way to organise files, but it also eliminates the need to download files, which is useful if you are using a temporary computer.
Diigo Web Collector:
This app is far more advanced than Google Drive and the great thing about it is that it allows users to categorise and store websites with their custom keywords. Moreover users can choose to “read the page later”, share with friends or even take a screenshot.
The best feature, however, is the annotation system that lets users highlight text and insert post-it notes directly on to a web page. All the content is synced and accessible later. In short, the Diigo Web Collector is something of a all-in-one browsing and data collection tool.
Google Dictionary:
This is definitely one of the most useful apps available. Instead of laboriously copying words from a webpage, and then searching for it in a new tab, the Google Dictionary allows users to check the definition of any word just by double clicking on a particular word.
It also includes a feature for prononciation (US). To make things easier, the app also features a small search box on the title bar, that allows users to type in words and check the definition directly from their browsers.
