Our week-long adventure, hosted by the lovely folks at Tourism Seychelles, was nothing short of magical. From Mahe’s vibrant streets to the pristine beaches of La Digue, here’s a recap of our unforgettable journey.
A Warm Welcome to Mahe: Island of Luxury and Lush Greenery
We touched down at Mahé International Airport just after sunrise, greeted by a burst of island warmth and the smiling faces of our hosts. First stop? The stunning Savoy Resort and Spa, where luxury greeted us with open arms. The hotel’s Mahek Restaurant, serving authentic Indian flavours, set the bar high for the culinary adventure ahead.
The next day kicked off with a video shoot showcasing the resort’s lavish amenities, followed by a deep dive into Mahé’s cultural heartbeat. From the lively Victoria Market, buzzing with colourful stalls, to the serene beauty of Mission Lodge, Mahé charmed us with every step. And for the rum lovers? The Takamaka Rum Distillery tour was a spirited delight—literally!
Praslin: Nature’s Masterpiece
A breezy ferry ride whisked us to Praslin, Seychelles’ second-largest island, where the legendary Vallée-de-Mai awaited. Picture this: towering palm trees, rare Black Parrots darting through the forest, and the mystical Coco de Mer nuts hanging high above. It’s no wonder this UNESCO World Heritage site is rumoured to be the original Garden of Eden!
After a sumptuous Creole lunch at La Pirogue Restaurant, we spent the afternoon at Anse Lazio, a beach so picturesque it felt like stepping into a postcard. White sands, crystal-clear waters, and a sunset that took our breath away—it’s the stuff dreams are made of.
Curieuse Island: Tortoises and Tranquility
Curieuse Island brought us face-to-face with the giants—Aldabra tortoises, to be exact. These gentle creatures roam freely on this sanctuary island, offering visitors a glimpse into Seychelles’ conservation efforts. A barbecue lunch by the beach and an afternoon snorkelling session sealed the deal: Curieuse is a must-visit for any nature enthusiast.
La Digue: Where Time Stands Still
On La Digue, life slows down, and the scenery ramps up. We cycled through quaint villages, soaking in the laid-back charm, before arriving at Anse Source d’Argent—a beach that’s famous for a reason. Towering granite boulders, clear turquoise waters, and powdery sand make it a photographer’s paradise.
The L’Union Estate added a touch of history to our adventure. Watching coconut oil production and wandering through a traditional plantation house gave us a glimpse into Seychelles’ rich heritage.
The Grand Finale on Mahe
Back on Mahe for the final leg of our journey, we explored the breathtaking Trois Frères Viewpoint. Overlooking Victoria and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean, it was the perfect spot for a reflective moment amidst nature.
Our trip ended on a high note at the Takamaka Rum Bar, sipping on expertly crafted cocktails while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. As the sun set on our Seychelles adventure, we knew this was more than a work trip—it was an experience that left us spellbound.
