Quirky, yet fresh, sense of style and fun personality to boot, Gavinda Bolonghe is your typical islander and given the chance, he'd "wear sarongs and flip flops everywhere." Currently working in the communications and PR field, Gava sates his wanderlust by travelling and exploring new places whenever he can. Gava sat down with the Daily Mirror Life to talk fashion and grooming.
How would you describe your personal style?
Casual and uninformed. I'm never aware of current trends. If I feel comfortable in something, I wear it.
What - in your opinion - are must haves in a man's closet?
Black skinny jeans and white shirts and you're ready for anything.
What are your essential style tips?
Personal hygiene. And always wear nice underwear and a good perfume.
What's your take on following fashion trends?
I guess when it comes to style, fashion trends are just guidelines. You have to always make it your own and do whatever that makes you comfortable.
How important is grooming for men?
As important as it is for women. A good haircut never hurt anybody.
What's your personal grooming ritual?
I honestly have none. If at all it's just my hair that I put a little effort into.
One thing you hate that men do or don't do with regard to fashion or grooming.
I think some people just try too hard. I guess the whole point is to just let your individuality come through. If it seems like someone has put two days worth of thinking to put together an outfit it clearly defeats the purpose.
