Sajani describes her street style to be ‘casual chic yet classy’. “I love to mix and match bright colours and at the same time keep a muted colour palette”.
She explains that she’s a bit of an explorer when it comes to fashion. “I don’t always stick to one style. One day I’ll have a whole Indian vibe going on and then the next day it can be something completely different!”
So how can one change styles as often as Sajini? She shows us exactly how it’s done this week on our street style segment!
LOOK 1 : Denim on Denim
The secret is balance. For many women this means that dark denim jeans and a lighter denim top or jacket is the most flattering way to go. Nude heels would be the ideal go to look but if you want you could pair it off with gladiator style heels and gold accessories for a more edgy look.
LOOK 2 : Gypsy Vibes
The whole festival look is something that has been trending a lot lately. I’m wearing a vibrant printed pant with a white crop (even a neutral coloured crop would work) and to accessorize I would recommend a chunky necklace or earrings with bindis and/or flash tattoos.
LOOK 3 : Khaki
The khaki trend is overall very smart, fashionable and versatile. The colour coordination requires some consideration, but the choice remains quite personal. You can layer different shades and stretch your colour palette to mustard and tans or you could opt for khaki skinnies and a green shirt with gold heels for a glammed up look or even simply go for khaki pants, black crop top and white Vans with gold accessories for a casual yet chic look.
LOOK 4 : Nude Palette
There are many ways to wear nude shades and look sophisticated but always be careful wearing nude palette head-to-toe to avoid looking naked on the streets! Just go for voluminous or even structured silhouettes over bodycon ones.
Here I paired a nude pleated pant with a light beige lace crop top and nude heels and gold accessories to finish the outfit off.
LOOK 5 : White on White
Minimal, Monochromatic outfit is always a winning look! There's no secret trick to wearing an all-white outfit - everyone can pull it off and look absolutely gorgeous!
I paired white high waist shorts with a white top with gold details and nude heels.
Style Role Model: It has always been my mom! She is one person who's always dressed with much class and elegance and someone I really admire. She carries her outfit all effortlessly. Apart from her I take inspiration from the whole Kardashian clan occasionally.
Favourite Colours to Pair: I'm a huge fan of black. I love pairing greys, whites and gold.
Go To Outfit: Short black flared skirt, monochrome crop top and white Vans! Comfy yet stylish.
Style Must Have’s?
- Basic tee's - loose fitted, long, short
- Perfect black leggings
- Crop top
- Pencil skirt
- Chambray shirts (denim shirts) and plaid button ups
- White sneakers / Vans
- Classic heels
Make-up Tips?
- Always have a fresh face , you don’t have to do the whole contour and highlight but just have a basic liner and natural lipstick you can wear everyday with some highlight for a glowy touch.
- Instead of having to draw your eyeliner perfectly even when you're on the go, invest in a good black eye shadow which you can use daily to smudge on top of your lid and below next to your lashes. It immediately gives the impression you have fuller lashes and bigger eyes.
Style No’s: To wear many trends at a time. Trends are meant to inspire you and meant to be added in little doses in your daily outfits so a major no- no would be to wear 10 different trends at one time, make sure to incorporate it to your base outfit and classic staple pieces.
Style Tip:
- Have your own individual unique style.
- Don't be afraid to try new things and explore, go crazy and own it!
- To give your outfit some edge, knot a button-down shirt to show off your waist and cuff your jeans.
