The Startup Cook – Sir Ian McKellen’s Scrambled Eggs

I am more than aware that scrambled eggs are something that everyone can do. But if there is a scrambled egg recipe out there which is better than anything you have made (eggs-wise), sharing it with you is a must isn’t it?

Now like most of you, I too made scramble eggs in a non stick frying pan in approximately five minutes. That is of course until my friend, Hasulie introduced me to this recipe on a rainy Saturday morning. This version of scrambled needs a little more cooking time, but it is completely worth it.

The eggs aren’t too moist neither is too dry, it is just perfect. And if you under holiday crunch stress and looking for some comfort food after putting a twelve hour work stint, this is just it. Oh and the best part of this recipe is watching the cheese melt in to the eggs.

Sir Ian McKellen – Thank you!

Ingredients

2 eggs
2 tbs of milk
1 ½ tsp of butter
1 single slice of cheese
Salt
Pepper

Directions

Place a small heavy based non-stick pan on the stove.

Add the two eggs in to it.

Turn the stove on and start cooking the eggs on a very low flame. Using a wooden spoon, keep stirring the eggs.

While stirring, add the milk to the eggs and then add the butter to it.

Add the cheese to the eggs while stirring and then add ½ teaspoon of salt and pepper as well.

Keep stirring until the eggs start to stick to the pan and form.

Once the eggs have become scrambled, take it off the heat.

Disasters, Warnings and Tips

Continuous stirring is vital for this delicious recipe.

Add extra cheese if you like. You can use cheese wedges instead of slices.

I had these scrambled eggs with some toast and pickle. Strange you may say but certainly yum!

This week has been hectic for me. Exhausted is my new game.

Christmas is coming up. I am so excited!

You can add some oregano if you like. I did.
