It is a very bad habit and I am not proud about it – but yes I do skip breakfast. And it is such a shame because I love breakfast food. Who doesn’t? We check in at hotels early hours of morning, so that we are able to whack that awesome breakfast buffet.
As a weird sort of solution, more than often I tend to make breakfast for dinner. When I do, I love making all sorts of morning goodies and that means I usually lean towards American recipes. I mean who doesn’t love some sizzling sausages and eggs? Chocolate chip pancakes? Hash browns?
Hence, when I am really hungry and craving for some breakfast at eight o’clock in the night, I resort to making these biscuits. Needing only a few ingredients, it is a very simple make and it is really quite filling. An excellent substitute for bread, this is best eaten straight out of the oven.
For those who don’t know, these are savoury biscuits often served not only for breakfast but with fried chicken and even some delicious gravy. Personally, I prefer them with some baked beans, eggs and sausages. Yum!
Ingredients
1 cup of (all purpose) flour
4 tbs of margerine
1/3 cup of buttermilk
1 tsp of baking powder
Salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 225 Celsius. Prepare a baking sheet and set it aside.
Place the flour in a mixing bowl. Add the baking powder and a dash of salt to it.
Cut the margarine in to the flour, until the flour looks crumbly.
Pour the buttermilk in to the flour and mix to combine.
Spoon half the batter on to the prepared tray. Using your hands, sculpt it in to a circular shape.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
Bake for 10 – 15 minutes.
Serve with eggs and sausages.
Disasters, Warnings and Tips
Ideally you have to bake it until its light brown in colour. But I couldn’t wait, I was hungry.
You can make two biscuits with these measurements.
Season 5 of Game of Thrones is over. I am sad.

One thing, you have to admit - Americans know how to eat.
If you like, you can use butter instead of margarine.
