Serving up freshly made soups, appetizers, and snacks such as chillie cheese fries, toasties and mains such as sandwiches, burgers, rice and pasta dishes, the café also focuses on customized orders for its patrons. They are currently promoting the Seafood Platter which includes a gigantic platter for three, and free beverages (for three) off the menu. Must try items on the menu are the Arrabiata Pasta, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Grilled Seer with Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables, Couscous Vegetable Rice with Chicken Kebabs and the selection of wraps.
Beverages at the café are just something else, with their fruit slushies, rich, indulgent milkshakes, frappes and freshly made lemonades. Moving on to desserts, The Paddington does indulgent waffles, specifically the chocolate one which is served with a generous drizzling of chocolate sauce, and topped with chocolate chips, cornflakes and chocolate wafers. Other items available are cakes, cheesecake and ice cream sundaes. Chocolate fondue is also on the list, where you can choose from fruit, marshmallows and Oreos to dip into.
The Paddington is also planning to run monthly promotions, and to start with, they will be having a burger promotion followed by a lasagna promotion and a crab promotion. They plan on running the existing menu for this year, and depending on the response of customers, they might make a few additions to it.
The café also does outdoor catering for private events, and customers can choose from the regular café menu or ask for something else to be made. Located upstairs is a private lounge which can be rented out for private events such as birthday parties, corporate meetings or even a quiet dinner with family and friends.
The Paddington is located at 36, Barnes Place, Colombo 07, and is open everyday from 11AM – 11PM. For regular updates and contact details, please visit The Paddington page on Facebook.
