Tea Trails is the world’s first tea bungalow resort, perched at an altitude of 1250 metres in Sri Lanka’s panoramic Ceylon tea region, bordering the World Heritage Central Highlands. It is Sri Lanka’s first Relais and Chateaux resort. This award-winning boutique resort comprises of five restored colonial era tea planters’ bungalows, offering period furnishings, exquisite butler service and gourmet cuisine. Bungalows vary from 4 to 6 rooms and suites; 26 rooms in all. Guests can book an individual room or a group could reserve a complete bungalow. Each of the five bungalows is unique - lakeside Castlereagh, Summerville and Dunkeld, Norwood with panoramic views and Tientsin, the most traditional colonial. The bungalows are connected by walking trails through scenic Ceylon tea gardens. Tea Trails is managed by Resplendent Ceylon, the leisure arm of family tea company Dilmah which also manages the spectacular, South Coast cliff top resort - Cape Weligama.

Tea Trails is the perfect intimate wedding location. The picture postcard surroundings are sure to be appealing to anyone wanting the perfect small wedding. The couple can choose any one of the 5 bungalows for their ceremony or even choose to tie the knot at the historic Christ Church Warleigh (built 1878) which overlooks the Catstlereagh Reservoir. The sense of serenity one feels at Tea Trails coupled with the lush green fields, dazzling manicured gardens and the pleasant up-country weather are sure to make any wedding that much more magical and definitely an affair that will be remembered by all.
How can guests get accommodation, food and other facilities?
Bungalows at Tea Trails consist of 26 rooms and guests can opt to stay at any one of the bungalows. When planning the wedding, a couple can reserve rooms for guests who would like to stay overnight or for a few days at Tea Trails; alternatively a full bungalow can be reserved for the couple and their loved ones. Each of the bungalows have a team of butlers who will make sure every wish is catered to and food is prepared by our Relais and Chateaux chefs. Menus are compiled based on individual requests and requirements.
How soon can you organize a small wedding for clients?
Arrangements for a wedding can be planned with a minimum of 2 weeks advance notice and provided bungalows and rooms are available during the chosen time.
