An elephant at the U.S. National Zoo in Washington, D.C., has been delighting staffers with her musical talents.

Shanthi, a 36-year-old Asian elephant, uses her trunk to play a harmonica that is attached to her stall.
She plays for several minutes at a time, even when humans are not in view.

Shanthi, who was a gift from Sri Lanka in 1976, plays her own songs that always have a big crescendo at the end.
