The show began with the De Lanerolle Brothers singing “When I come back, say you’ll marry me…” and after a long wait, the Bellamy Brothers sporting Stetson hats came on stage.
The concert was held on Saturday, 8 February 2014 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium and some of the crowd had dressed in Cowboy style. The organisers said that they had been trying for three years to get the Bellamy Brothers to come to Sri Lanka and finally they had succeeded.
The Bellamy Brothers had sung in Mumbai and Goa and then stopped over in Colombo. They sang some old favourites such as ‘Some broken hearts never mend’, ‘Vertical expressions of horizontal desire’ and ‘I need more of you’ among other favourites.
They asked the audience for requests and they sang “Beautiful body” The Brothers said that they had often wanted to come to Sri Lanka but it had never worked out till now. They next sang the classic 1976 number, “Let Your Love Flow” and the audience sang and clapped along. They then stood up and sang along as the Brothers sang “Redneck Girl”.

Mar 02, 2014 at 12:00 amThe group was good as usual but the sounds were horrible. It was so loud and distorted the audience had plugged ears. I wonder what the organisers were doing. It's a pity that nothing was done.
