At the Crystal Ball room of the Taj Samudra, cabaret performer Steve Ross rendered a magnificent performance as singer and pianist to a packed audience. Extracting song after song from what he called The Great American Song Book, Ross dished out satire, humour, love and romance and breaking heart music. His repertoire included “Alexander’s Ragtime Band and “Love’s Illusion”.
It was an evening of a treasure trove of music performed by a master artiste.
Fingers nimble on his grand piano for one and a half hours an enthralling musical classic was presented to an appreciative audience.
“London Pride” specially caught my heart, as he sang about the little flower that blooms through the crevices of cobble stone each year.
The evening’s finale was a question in song. “ Waltzing in the Wonder of Why We are Here (this song is known as “Dancing in the Dark”).
