Even as I write this my mouth salivates for a mouthful of that glorious tomato wonderfulness. So thus after several hours of research I came across, an easy (important characteristic) but extremely delicious spaghetti sauce which had my whole family licking their lips with joy! Thus my culinary goddess crown securely in place I highly recommend that you make a batch of this glorious sauce for it will be your friend on a busy weekday when you are at your wits end at the lack of time and energy to make dinner. But a batch of this made in advance and stored the night before can easily sort out the family meal. Belissimo!
Ingredients
- Tin of anchovies
- Tin of tomatoes or 8 to 10 medium sized tomatoes chopped
- Tomato paste
- Ground meat (beef or chicken)
- Chopped garlic about a clove
- Chopped parsley
- Tomato ketchup
- Worcester sauce
- Salt, sugar and pepper to taste
Method
In a shallow sauce which will accommodate a good bit of sauce add some oil and add in the tin of anchovies with some of the chopped garlic. Stir it pressing the anchovies until it melts and combines with the garlic. Once the garlic starts to brown then add the ground meat of choice, you can add a bit more garlic at this point. Keep stirring. Whilst the meat cooks add a dash of tomato ketchup and Worcester sauce. Keep cooking until the meat browns, then add your tomato paste and your chopped tomatoes or tin. Give it a good stir, add salt and pepper to taste. Add a little bit more water and now let the sauce cook down. Take it off the heat depending on whether you want lots of sauce or not. Top of with some chopped basil and slices olives. Extremely Italian, enjoy with a bowl of hot spaghetti and chuck of garlic bread.
