Yes I agree, the recipe this week doesn't sound very extravagant or mind boggling, but that does not mean it fails to disappoint in terms of taste. Also I am sure your kitchens must be buzzing with equally delectable dishes for the impending Christmas feast, therefore a simple treat to serve friends and family is always a welcome. As the kids are home, for these easy to do recipes you can easily get them to help to do some mixing and stirring creating a family tradition. These chocolate snowballs with their cookie bases is indeed a twist on the normal everyday Christmas cookie, quite delightful with the evening tea, a hot mug of Christmasy hot chocolate or even an after dinner aperitif with a glass of cherry. Either way these chocolate snowballs or not to be thrown but instead delectably demolished!
Ingredients
· 2 cups sifted flour
· 1/2 tsp salt
· 3/4 cup butter
· 1/2 cup sugar
· 2 tsp vanilla
· 1 egg
· 1 cup chopped nuts
· 1 cup chocolate chips
· Powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Sift flour and salt.
3. Blend butter, sugar, and vanilla.
4. Beat eggs into creamed mixture.
5. Blend dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate chips into mixture.
6. Shape into 1 inch balls.
7. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
8. Bake 15-20 minutes.
9. Cool and roll in powdered sugar.
