Raffles started as a catering company in December 1999, specialising in outdoor catering. In 2001, they ventured into mass catering, providing catering facilities to some of the reputed industries all over Sri Lanka.
You cater to all kinds of wedding occasions, whether it’s small or large. What are the minimum and maximum amounts of people you can cater to?
When it comes to catering, numbers do not matter as long as the client is willing to pay for our services. We have handled some exclusive weddings all over Sri Lanka. We also specialize in handling location weddings for some foreign clients who are keen to have a romantic set up for their important day.
When catering to small weddings of around 20-30 guests - how does the menu vary?
We do not go with fixed set menus. We give the client the liberty of deciding his or her own menu. Also, we tailor make any menus to suit their requirements.
What kind of food should the couple order / serve at small weddings?
It all depends on the client’s requirement. We specialise in all types of food.
For an intimate wedding, is it better to serve in courses or a buffet style?
Yes, for an intimate wedding serving courses is good when the numbers are small. Yet, the menu should have variety to fulfill the guest’s requirement.
How much should one budget for food for a small wedding party below 50 people?
Anything starting from Rs. 3500 upwards.
What’s the one ‘Do’ and ‘Don’t’ every couple should know when picking out their caterer?
More than the price, they should look in to the integrity of the caterer, as this is the most important day in their lives.
