The latest hotel to join the host of hotels and resorts alongside Sri Lanka’s Southern coast, the Pandanus Beach Resort and Spa was opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa at a glittering event held on May 29 to mark the opening of the property. Located on a stretch of beach in Induruwa, the five-storeyed hotel boasts of 96 rooms with five star facilities in addition to a restaurant, bar, pool and wellness spa.

The resort is jointly owned by the Thilakawardhana Group of Companies and the Ever Green Plantation Management Company, with its Managing Directors Aruna De Silva and Sunil Thilakawardhana being reputed entrepreneurs in the tea plantation and textile industries respectively. The resort was constructed on an investment of over LKR 2 billion.

Rooms with breathtaking views of the ocean

Designed by renowned architect Vinod Jayasinghe, the entire resort offers sprawling, breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean - perfect for relaxing and kicking back for that ideal beach vacation. There are five categories of rooms, namely the Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites, Suites and the Presidential Suite, all of which are tastefully furnished and offer a terrace or balcony overlooking the Indian Ocean. In room tea and coffee facilities are included in addition to flat screen televisions with satellite channels, individual safes and rain showers.

The Deluxe Rooms and Suites come equipped with a private Jacuzzi facing the sea and a private lounging area. The Presidential Suite however is the highlight, as it comes equipped with a private plunge pool overlooking the sea, private Jacuzzi, in room dining area and two private rooms. Rooms located on the ground floor open up to the beautifully designed 150 foot swimming pool, with a children’s pool located next to it.

Feasting at the Main Restaurant

When it comes to dining at the Main Restaurant, you can be assured of a feast fit for a king. A highly skilled team of chefs with local and international experience and exposure ensure that there’s a wide range of cuisines to pick from. Apart from dining at the restaurant, arrangements can be made to enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars on the beach or in the privacy and comfort of your own room.

The Sky Bar located on the rooftop is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a drink whilst being treated to a beautiful view of the ocean and stars. Guests may also enjoy their drinks at the lobby bar which includes entertainment come evening.

Pandanus Wellness Spa & gymnasium

The Pandanus Wellness Spa is managed by Ariana Spas and offers a range of treatments for guests, each one designed to revitalize you and offer you the ultimate in relaxation. The treatments are administered by therapists with local and international experience.

A well equipped gymnasium is also available should you require a workout.
