December 2014 brings out the first edition of Menus by Dharshan. Its purpose is to give guests insights, stories and origins of some of the dishes of Nihonbashi, Ministry of Crab, Kaema Sutra and the newest addition in Galle, The Tuna & The Crab. Each restaurant is unique in its own way; they each utilize a variety of ingredients and methods in how the dishes are cooked and presented and this publication showcases all of these aspects.
This first edition presents the stories behind how each of these restaurants began and why they are pertinent in the culinary industry today. Among other articles, readers will see recommendations of dishes across all the restaurants, exclusives from Dharshan himself, and recipes of famous dishes. Dharshan Munidasa, Chef and Owner of these restaurants had this to say, “Almost 10 years ago, Nihonbashi Restaurants published a monthly newsletter. Having three restaurants at the time – Nihonbashi Honten, ODEL and Hilton – this was useful to communicate what we did. Today with five restaurants – Nihonbashi, Nihonbashi ODEL, Ministry of Crab, Kaema Sutra and The Tuna & The Crab – this publication serves as a bridge among all of them. It is also a place to get to know us better as individuals and I hope this bi-monthly publication will keep you wanting more.”
The publication will also feature a ‘Foodography’ competition which invites readers to submit their own food photographs to stand a chance to win a dinner voucher from Nihonbashi, Ministry of Crab, Kaema Sutra or The Tuna & The Crab. Additionally, winners will have their photos published in the next issue.
Menus by Dharshan is not for sale, however it is available free of charge for guests at any of the restaurants to read or take home.
