This easy to do craft project is a good way to jazz up those mundane looking light switches we have around the house. I did this craft project with my kids since they wanted to do up their room with the latest Disney character craze they were going through.
But you can also do it in the other rooms in the house to give our everyday, grubby looking light switch plate a stunning makeover.
Things you'll need
Light switch cover
Decorative wrapping paper
Sandpaper
Scissors
Super glue
Clear varnish
Sticky clear plastic cover
Method
Take your light switch cover and lightly sandpaper it to create an abrasive surface. Just a light brushing will do.
Then using your super glue, paste on your decorative paper. It could be just wrapping paper or you could get the kids to decorate in a collage motif.
If revamping light switches around the house, you can use more sophisticated material, like synthetic leather covers, or even thin plywood, any material of your fancy that will add a nice decorative touch.
Depending on the material used, brush the finished light switch with a light coat of clear varnish or else, carefully cut the light switch shape out on clear sticky plastic cover (the ones used to cover children books) and place over the finished light switch.
Get creative!
