Kiru Thavayogan started baking out of passion as part time four years ago.
 

She operates from home supplying to a multitude of restaurants and cafés in addition to handling individual orders. Now baking has become her profession. A limited range of products by Yumi Cake are available at Choco Luv, Keells Super, Arpico, Barista, Kapruka and the Good Market.

She claims that baking has always been a part of her family starting from her great grandmother to her aunts who are professional bakers overseas. Every product she bakes, she does it out of passion hence using only the best quality ingredients in order to deliver a quality product to her customers.

Kiru believes that a customer’s total satisfaction is her profession. Some of her recipes are passed from generation to generation, especially the Authentic Dutch-style Date Cake and the Traditional Christmas Cake. This has been certified by several Dutch ladies in town. Yumi Cake will not only stop with cakes but has also introduced desserts, buns, pastries and breads all again with a homemade touch.

Yumi Cake has introduced a delectable menu for the season, which includes popular favourites such as Traditional Christmas Cakes and Puddings, Chocolate Cherry Berry Fruit Cake, Whiskey-Soaked Fruit Cake, Breudher, Ginger Cookies, Yule Log, Christmas Muffins, Minced Pies, Stuffed Turkey and a variety of other desserts.


Yumi Cake is also at the Good Market at Diyatha Uyana on Thursdays.
