Kaushi is no stranger to our readers as she’s been featured on the website in the past. She recently launched her brand new bridal boutique with her own exclusive designs.
Life Online met up with her for a few words on her latest venture.
Kaushi, this is a pleasant surprise for all of us, what is your story behind this?
The reason to start a bridal boutique was my involvement in the bridal scene as the presenter of Subasiri. That gave me a great exposure and sound contacts within the local bridal industry. I also did identify the areas which I think lacked quality and had room for improvement and a one stop bridal shop was not a common concept existing in the country. KBB offers bridal attire and accessories for any kind of a wedding whether it is a western theme or a Sinhalese, Tamil, Islamic traditional theme or a fantasy theme.
The designs look exquisite, how do you achieve this look?
All bridal gowns which are available at the store are designed by me and manufactured in a factory overseas using foreign components. We also undertake custom made designs which could be designed and either stitched here in Sri Lanka or abroad. All sarees that we do are custom handmade as our concept is to be a bridal designer store which will have only one piece from one design. Accessories are available in western and traditional format and all of them are imported from India, Hong Kong, Thailand and Dubai. This is the only place in Sri Lanka which gives exclusivity on top of everything.
What’s your target audience?
Our target market is the potential bride who would like to see herself in attire that no one else before has worn. We are price sensitive and we are in the range of not ultra expensive or ultra cheap. This will is a store where you have a solution for anyone.
