Cinnamon Grand Colombo presents special Iftar menu during the month of Ramadan

Celebrating the holy month of Ramadan, Cinnamon Grand Colombo has introduced a lavish spread of nourishment for diners at a special Iftar Buffet at the Taprobane, while launching an exclusive room service menu for guests and a Shisha menu at the Shisha Lounge. During this month of abstinent, Muslims world over observe the ritual of fasting for a month from sunrise to sunset, engaging in spiritual reflection, devotion and worship. The act of fasting is said to redirect the heart away from worldly activities, its purpose being to cleanse the soul by freeing it from harmful impurities and encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity.

Celebrating this period of spiritual enlightenment, Taprobane presents a wholesome Iftar buffer featuring a variety of snacks, refreshments and carvery. From the important dates and laban, presented on the menu are Hummus Bil Taheena (chickpea with sesame puree dip), Khyar Bi Laban (cucumber with yoghurt and dry mint), Baba ghanoush (grilled eggplant with cubed vegetable salad), Fattoush (Arabic toasted salad) and Tabbouleh (bulgur, tomato, parsley, mint, onion, lemon juice and olive oil under cold mezze and Shorbet Ads (lentil soup) and Chicken Kanji as chicken.

Under main dishes are Kabsa (Arabic mixed rice with spices, vegetables and meatand Samak Harra (grilled moda with spicy tomato sauce). A grilled lamb shawarma action station will also be in place along with a carvery section with Dajaj Mashwi (Arabian grilled chicken) and a roti station. A dessert spread featuring Om Ali, Basbousa, Pistachio Baklava and the traditional Watalappan will also be set up for diners.

The Iftar dinner buffet at Taprobane continues throughout the month of Ramadan from 29 June to 29 July from 6.25 p.m. onwards at Rs. 1,750++++. A special room service menu for ‘snacks’ with a range of fresh fruit juices, selection of lassi, conjee, cold and hot mezze, soups and a ‘main’ menu with desserts have been arranged for guests. The snack menu is priced at Rs. 1,000++++, and the main meal at Rs. 1,600+++. The Shisha Lounge at the pool side will also have a special Shisha Lounge Set Menu.
