International Christmas Charity Bazaar : Fun for a cause
The 35th International Christmas Charity Bazaar(ICCB) will be organized by a committee of likeminded local and expatriate ladies with a passion for charity, residing in Colombo. ICCB is a unique concept that gives a chance for those in Colombo to shop at their ease and serve for not one but many causes. As the festive season is about kick-off all Colombo dwellers are getting ready to shop like never before. The committee always put in their maximum effort to pull out a grand event and make it better than the previous one.
ICCB is an event that is not just about buying. Many charities and communities join in to make the event a success and it is them who benefit greatly from the event. The three main charities which will benefit from this year’s event are Ease, Reach and Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation. In addition, the ICCB carry commitments to smaller charities such as the Father Pillai Trust, Convent of Perpetual Help and a poor family with triplets. There will be over 25 countries participating at this year’s event and they will mainly have stalls with delicacies and crafts unique to each country. Some of the countries that will be participating include Australia, USA, UK, China, France and Malaysia.

The bazaar will have many items which will make it all the more exciting. There will be items such as Lucky Dips, Silent Auctions and Raffle Draws. The Lucky Dip is open for both adults and children and at Rs.100 per try you can win a multitude of prizes. For adults, prizes include gift packs from Spa Ceylon, hampers from participating countries, Paradise Road gifts, PR vouchers, gift packs from Trunk and many more surprises. The Raffle Draw is yet another exciting item which is sponsored by Qatar Airways and the first prize is 2 economy class tickets to anywhere in the world. Other prizes include a black and white drawing by eminent artist Senaka Senanayake, hotel stays at CAPE Weligama, UGA Resorts, Paradise Road Hotels, jewelry items and many more. In addition to that the Silent Auction will allow the customers to bid for something priceless and if they are lucky they will be able to win it. Some of the items for the bid include a Demak scooter, Samsung LED TV, Microsoft smartphones, awards won by Kumar Sangakkara and many more. In addition to that there will also be a photobooth for those who would like to get a Christmas memento with their loved ones.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to various charities. At the event these charities too will have different stalls selling different items.
