With mother’s day around the corner the race is on to get or make your mum the perfect Mother’s Day gift that shows her you love her truly!!!.

I am sure she must be inundated with cards, flowers and chocolates so why not make her something unique and functional like my flower flip flops. Your mother will really appreciate these stylish works of art and she will take great pride in the fact that her little one has made these for her.

You might have to rope in your Dad for some artistic assistance, so kids beware this might be the only difficult part in this project!. Lets gets creative!

Things needed

Pair of inexpensive slippers, choose them in your mums favorite color
 Some old artificial flowers
Colourful beads and stones
Superglue

Method

Buy a pair of inexpensive slippers in your mum’s favourite colour.  Either buy some artificial flowers or even use some from around the house. But check with your mother if she doesn’t need them.

Take the flower apart, keeping the centre and the back piece separately. Now using your super glue, glue the petals together. VERY IMPORTANT - In the case of a small child, if using superglue always get an adult to help you.

Using the colorful beads and stones, fix a bejeweled stone in the center of your flower. Once flower is ready, fix onto the slipper. To make it more decorative you can also glue some more colourful beads along the straps to give it some sparkle and bling.

When decorating your mums flip flops you do not necessarily have to stick to flowers, you can use bows, tiny bells, etc what ever takes your fancy and what ever you think your mum will appreciate.
