Founded in 1997, the OJC is melded with an undying passion for music. Their repertoire of songs include the genres of Spiritual and Sacred Music and Barbershop, but they also do Classic Rock and Pop music. Anyone who has heard them at past concerts and performances, knows that are very simply, very good at what they do!
This year, they are aiming to take part in the 8th World Choir Games which will be held in Riga, Latvia from the 9th - 13th of July. This will be the first time that The OJC will be competing in the World Choir Games and incidentally, they will be the only Sri Lankan and South Asian choir to compete this year. The two categories they will compete in are Sacred Music and Barbershop choir. The WCG will be held under the theme "Singing together brings nations together", solidified by the fact that 489 choirs representing 61 countries will be taking part.
‘Evolution’ is sure to be an evening of brilliant renditions of well-known songs, and we can all lend our support to the OJC as they represent Sri Lanka at the World Choir Games.
