Why do you love travel?
I love exploring what other countries offer in terms of scenery, style and local experiences unique to each country. I also love staying in stylish resorts and being pampered!
Your favourite travel destination and why?
Israel because it is the birth place of Jesus with so much undisputed archeological history going way beyond 2,000yrs where the manuscripts of the bible (Dead Sea scrolls) dating back to Est. 408 BCE to 318 CE were found in Qumran in 1946/7 etc and for the pure sense of peace felt in Jerusalem like no other. I also like London.
What do you need for a perfect holiday?
My husband! He has a super constitution for travel!
In which country have you felt most at home?
Sri Lanka. We are blessed with a beautiful country rich in history, beautiful beaches, spectacular lush green mountains, wildlife and friendly people.
Most unusual souvenir you have brought home?
I hardly bring souvenirs as I don't like ornaments and gadgets. Perhaps one of the very few places I brought some sort of a souvenir home is the water from the Sea of Galilee, water from the River Jordan and (salt) water from the Dead Sea!
Favourite holiday discovery?
Amanfayun at Hangzhou, China! Love the settings there.
Worst holiday or travel experience?
A trip to Germany in winter, because I was just after a bad fracture and walking on ice was dreadful!
Best piece of travel advice?
Travel light and be open and respectful towards another's culture, people and place! You'd enjoy it better this way.
Your top five travel destinations?
England, Israel, Paris, USA, Australia, and Hong Kong (err that's six actually).
What has travel taught you?
The amazing beauty and diversity of my God's creation!
What is the country you will never go back to and why?
Well... I'd never say never but doubt if I'd want to visit Pakistan again. Reason.... err not my thing!
Which country did you taste the best ever cuisine?
In London I went to a Moroccan Restaurant and I loved their food and also the Lebanese food at “Diwan L’Auberge" restaurant at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Next travel destination?
Hawaii!
